Equal Opportunities

The State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine (IMC) consistently strives to ensure equal opportunities and to build an inclusive working environment that fosters respect for the individual. The institution has adopted an Equal Opportunities Policy and a Plan of Measures for the Implementation of the Equal Opportunities Policy for 2026–2028. The principles of equal opportunities and non-discrimination are also integrated into the IMC Code of Academic Ethics, the Rules of Procedure, and the Researcher Performance Assessment System.

In staff recruitment, all candidates are subject to uniform, objective, and job-related assessment criteria. Job advertisements are drafted using gender-sensitive language, and the remuneration system ensures equal pay for employees within the same category.

IMC pays particular attention to accessibility and inclusion. Job advertisements are adapted for persons with disabilities and candidates with individual needs, and selection procedures can be adjusted individually where necessary. As part of the implementation of the Equal Opportunities Action Plan, the accessibility of both the physical environment and information is to be assessed on an ongoing basis.

In order to attract international talent, IMC publishes job advertisements and the institution's key governing documents in both Lithuanian and English, thereby providing equal opportunities to apply for both Lithuanian and foreign researchers.

The institution has a clear procedure for examining reports of possible violations of equal opportunities, discrimination, or other inappropriate conduct. All reports are examined by a specially established commission, ensuring confidentiality, impartiality, and objectivity.

IMC actively participates in initiatives aimed at strengthening a culture of equal opportunities. One of these is the project "Integration of Equal Opportunities at the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine," which seeks to further strengthen the organisation's practice as a responsible employer committed to ensuring equal opportunities.
